SOJOURN: THE AUTUMN 18 COLLECTION BY FORCAST

Punctuated by warm tones, vintage floral prints, intricate lace detailing and form-fitting styles, the Autumn ‘18 Collection by Forcast is reminiscent of a decade in history known for its fashion revolution; the 1940s. During a time of war, uncertainty and angst, women were forced to enter the workforce, which meant clothes had to be simple and practical.

After the war ended, an increased sense of independence and aspiration amongst women meant there was a noticeable change in women’s fashion. Hemlines became shorter, waistlines were cinched in and colours and prints became more apparent.

The Sojourn Collection is an exploration of this transition from the utilitarian look of wartime clothes to more feminine and playful garments. Monochrome prints, structure suit sets and form-fitting pants are contrasted with feminine florals, romantic plum tones, playful polkadot prints and floaty fabrics to represent the shift in fashion during this era.

‘Sojourn’ (noun, a temporary stay) was chosen to aptly represent this fleeting moment in history, where a post-war social change was evidently reflected in the transition of women’s fashion, if only for a moment. The collection boasts a range of wardrobe essentials, including sophisticated suits, pencils skirts and structured blouses, punctuated by statement pieces including cocktail dresses, printed blouses and striking colours that effortlessly establish the perfect Autumn wardrobe.

The Autumn ‘18 collection Sojourn will be launching in-store and online on February 14.

ST TROPEZ: THE HIGH SUMMER 17/18 COLLECTION BY FORCAST

Warm days and balmy nights are the inspiration behind our High Summer 17/18 capsule collection St Tropez, designed with a fluid yet feminine feel.

St Tropez is a wildly beautiful coastal town and pretty fishing village on the French Riviera which has been luring artists with its pastel coloured buildings and mythical light for decades. Its tranquil charm and unaltered landscapes form the backbone for our High Summer collection.

The collection will be hitting boutiques in two separate drops, arriving throughout December and early January, just in time to freshen up the wardrobe for the start of a new working year.

St Tropez boasts a neutral colour palette and an introduction of ‘linen-blend’ pieces, accented by billowing styles with cinched waists. Vintage summer styles became the inspiration for the collection, translated for the modern woman with pretty floral prints and crochet lace detailing.

Our Back to Work edit has been designed for the strong and empowered women, with a decidedly romantic feel. Our classic suiting has been elevated to new heights in a stunning muted pink, forming the backbone of the collection.

Subtle summer details have been incorporated throughout the collection through relaxed prints including stripes, polka dots and florals that will ease the transition from the summer sun and back to the office seamlessly.

Amor De Verano: The Summer ’17 Collection by Forcast

Amor De Verano is a Spanish term which translates to ‘summer love’ and sets the tone for our Summer ’17 Collection. Amor De Verano was designed for those whose hearts can’t be tamed, the sojourners who long for balmy summer nights dancing in cobblestone streets and days infused in travel, art and culture. This season, romanticism and modernism collide to bring to life a sultry collection of floaty dresses, dreamy blouses, tailored jumpsuits and must-have essentials which will inject an element of effortless sophistication that is synonymous with summer style.

Taupe, cobalt, navy, tan and an eclectic shade of green frame the vibrant collection, accented with fragments of ivory and black to soften the colour palette on offer.   A fresh take on florals is incorporated through a soft ivory and blush combination, along with a cobalt blue and ivory combination in a classic A-line dress and skirt. Classic shades of tan have been reinvented in a highly pigmented tone, complimented in modern silhouettes through our Charlie Open Sleeve Jumpsuit and Charlie Drape Skirt, both featuring a flattering mid-calf length and lightweight fabric perfect for those humid summer days.

Off the shoulder detailing has been infused throughout the collection with a number of pieces. The Justice Off the Shoulder Dress is a wardrobe must-have, featuring a soft navy and white polka dot print, elasticated neckline and floaty style, it is the perfect summer dress for warm days and balmy nights. A more formal approach to the bare shoulder style can be seen with our Aubrie Off Shoulder Jumpsuit, featuring a fitted bodice and flattering mid-calf length. Tailoring has been reinvented for warmer weather using a combination of a soft taupe shade and floaty fabrics to provide effortless summer essentials, including culottes, belted shorts and mid-length, cinched skirts.

Viridescent: The Spring ’17 Collection by Forcast

Viridescent is a Latin word which translates to ‘becoming green’ and is representative of the lush florals and greenery the change of season welcomes. This Spring, our inspiration was drawn from a greenhouse – its linear exterior becoming a reference for the striped prints and deep greens incorporated throughout the S’17 collection.

The colour palette consists of dusty pink, emerald green and hints of flame, complimented by invigorating floral and striped designs. Underpinning the collection are a number of key prints and silhouettes – adding a touch of fresh femininity consistent with Spring dressing.

The Eden print is a gorgeous vintage floral look with a deep green undertone that will compliment all complexions, available in a form-fitting jumpsuit or flared sleeve blouse. Key pieces seen throughout the collection are floaty off the shoulder styles, ruffled blouses, cropped trousers and tie-waist detailing.

The Akira long sleeve blouse offers a modern bishop sleeve and a shirred cuff with a soft and light fabrication that is splashed with an all-over graphic print which references the fernery of the greenhouse. The Quinn collared sleeveless top right is a great choice for the office, style with a fresh ivory bottom to keep the look fresh.

Suiting has also been incorporated into the collection adding a touch of sophistication to any look and providing a chic transition from cooler to warmer months. Our new Tyra jumpsuit is a wardrobe must-have, featuring a contrasting waistband and fitted style that will take you from desk to date with ease.

Viridescent will be available in Forcast stores from August 17.
